Which pass is best

We are frequently asked which, from the considerable list of options, is the best ski pass to buy. To help answer that question we have put together this quick summary of what is on offer that and what you should consider before making your decision. Here is a quick overview on what ski passes are available.

3 Vallees Pass

This pass gives you access to all of the lifts in the entire 3 Vallees  ski area without the need to upgrade throughout your stay.

Meribel Valley Pass

This pass will provide you with access to 150km of piste and every lift within the Meribel Mottaret Valley.

Meribel Pass

This pass is a smaller version of the Meribel Valley pass, it will provide you with access to approximately half  of the lifts within the valley.

Meribel-Mini Pass

The mini-pass provide access to lift’s around the Altiport area, it is suitable for total beginners and small children.

Now that we have some understanding of what passes are available, lets turn are attention to YOU.

What level skier are you?

If you are a beginner we would not recommend buying a 3 Vallees pass, there will be plenty of slopes to keep you happy for the week within Meribel. We appreciate that it’s hard not to go with the flow when you come on holiday we a group of more experienced skiers, but realistically if this is your first week skiing most of the time will be spent getting used to everything.

On the other hand if you are a experienced skier there’s know doubt that you will want to venture into the neighbouring valleys. So it make good sense to buy the more expensive 3 Vallee pass.

So this leaves us with the group of skiers who classify  themselves as intermediate skier. If this sounds like you, then you might be more than capable  of skiing into the surrounding valleys but, you might not want to do it everyday.  If  this is the case we recommend buying a Meribel Valley pass  and upgrading it when you need to (if you upgrade for more then two days,  it will work out cheaper to buy the 3 Vallees pass).

Are you taking lesson?

If you are taking lesson it is always best to check with your ski school to see what ski pass they recommend.

Carte Neige Insurance

This is an insurance which cover the costs of rescuing you off the maintain in the unfortunate event of you suffering some kind of accident. You can add Carte Neige Insurance for just €2.80 per adult per day, or €2.40 for children. This can be easily added onto your pass when you buy it online or though us.
